My Thoughts
This film is gripping right from the start where you are immediately thrown right into the action and you are kept in that gripped suspence all the way through it's grim and gritty drama. This is a film that doesn't try to portray the Mexican border is a light hearted way - it gets right down to the point.
The acting from Emily Blunt is fantastic, she is the perfect strong female lead! Her supporting actors of course are brilliant too (Josh Brollin, Daniel Kaluuya) but it's Blunt that really steals the show with her constant sturggle between authority and integrity.
Benicio Del Toro deserves special mention for his constant amazing ability to act so well without even saying a word!
The cinematography is stunning excellent for most of the film, particulalrly at showing the differences between sides of the border.
The music wasn't really too special, clearly designed to build suspence and add to the overall atmosphere rather than stand out as good on it's own.
Overall this is a great film and well worth a watch when it hits screens on Thursday 8th October. I'm glad I got a chance to sneak an advance screening because I bet screens will be packed!
