One of most anticipated films of 2016 is finally here but it is worth the hype?

Tensions begin to run high between the ever expanding group of avengers with Iron Man, Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) beginning to feel the guilt of all the devastation their actions have on the innocent believes only government intervention can save them. Meanwhile Steve Rogers, Captain America (Chris Evans) believes saving the world can't be controlled by those in power. Their disagreement escalates as The Winter Soldier, Bucky Barnes (Sebastian Stan) is involved in an attack at the signing of a treaty to limit the Avengers power. A disagreement on control quickly becomes a battle of what is right and leaves the members divided.

My Thoughts
First of all I think it's essential to be up to date on where you are in the Avengers timeline by this I mean make sure you've watched Captain America: The Winter Soldier (2014) and Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015) before seeing this.
This is a typical superhero film, full of action but is it as good as the previous films in the timeline? I don't think so.
I found the first hour of the film to be a little slow, for me there were parts that were unnecessary and just seemed to be thrown in to extend the length of the film rather than to be informative or entertaining.
Once the action did begin though there was plenty of it and more excitingly we got to see other characters come in to play. Appearances from Ant-Man (Paul Rudd) and in particular Spiderman (Tom Holland) were nice additions although we didn't really get to see much of them and if you're unfamiliar with Ant-Man (then it's a must see so go and watch it!) then you might be a little confused as to where all this extra character has come from and why it's even necessary.
Unlike other films in the franchise this film seems to be a little more on the serious side -with the exception of Tony Stank - I found this to be a little disappointing as it's something I've come to expect from a Marvel film.
One little point that I did find slightly irritating although not really that big a deal was the way the beginning of the film flitted between locations and would bring up the location name in very large font - just an unnecessary touch in my opinion.
Overall it's a good typical superhero film but not one I would go out of my way to go and watch. It doesn't do much to set up where the story will be going in the future.

Note: There is of course a scene after the credits so stick around!
